AV systems for 'The Market'
Rhubarb is one of the world's leading hospitality groups, managing an international portfolio of restaurants, venues and events spaces.
Rhubarb approached Crossover to assist with the audiovisual systems required for an expansive food centre called 'The Market' on level 2 of one of London's tallest buildings and 'Europe's first vertical village' - 22 Bishopsgate.
With 20,000 sq ft of food and beverage offerings including a restaurant, wine bar, outdoor terrace, street food style kiosks and pop-ups, 'The Market' is intended to cater for those living or working in the building, which may reach up to 12,000 when fully occupied, providing space to 'eat, drink, connect'.
Multi-zone audio system and control app
A large multi-zone sound system was designed, supplied and installed by Crossover, across the various areas of 'The Market'. Eleven distinct zones of loudspeakers can be individually adjusted for optimum volume levels.
Two media players from Music Concierge provide multiple channels of playlists specifically tailored for the 'The Market' space and brand. These playlists can be individually selected for each of the eleven zones via a custom-programmed BSS Motion Control app running on an iPad (or even an iOS smart phone).
Digital volume control wall-plates from BSS provide back-up control of volume levels.

Award Winning Design
22 Bishopsgate has been designed specifically as a 'wellbeing' building, putting user experience and human interaction at its core. As 'the foodie heart' of the building 'The Market' has a key role to play in these aspirations, delivering a highly polished, artisanal and thoughtful aesthetic, complemented by the AV equipment installed in the customer-facing areas.
The interior design the concept draws inspiration from the crafted ethos of traditional London Guilds, emulating their objective of building a supportive community in the midst of a thriving capital city.
The project was winner of the Opal Award 2021 for best interior design in the hospitality sector.
