Monzo are a true ‘bank of the future’. With a user experience built around a beautifully designed app for smartphone, their aim is to make banking seriously simple, intelligent and completely live – providing an instant view of your transactions and account balance. With nice features for their pre-paid debit card, such as zero fees for spending overseas, and a straightforward help and support chat feature accessed direct from the app, Monzo are building the bank of the future, available now.
At the time of writing around 25,000 people are in the waiting list for a Monzo card, so they have obviously tapped into a market with big demand, hence why the company are doubling in staff about every six months and expanding operations rapidly.
The Monzo head office in London is based just off Old Street (Silicon) roundabout (a ten minute walk from Crossover) and features an event space and communal area, for which Crossover were brought in to provide a projection system and audio system, to facilitate high quality events and presentations, as well as a simple background music system for the multipurpose events space.
Crossover installed a multi-zone audio system, so that the event space and communal kitchen area can be fed different music, or the same music at different volumes. Great care was taken to match the AV equipment with the aesthetics of the carefully designed space, including careful positioning of conduit runs for cabling.
The video system provides a streaming output so that company meetings can be broadcast to remote workers and recorded for anyone needing to catch up later. The video system also features an 8-way input switch, so that multiple sources can easily display on the main projector, using either a wired or wireless connection.
No doubt at their current rate of growth it won’t be long before Monzo will be adding extra AV to their events space such as additional cameras and microphones, so plenty of future proofing and 4K compatible infrastructure have been built in to Crossover’s design.
